In My Time is the personal memoirs of Peter J. Hughes, who served both with the Royal Navy as well as the Metropolitan Police Service. He served for the country and then served for Londoners. Throughout his story he covers the days of war and blackouts to riding a motorcycle 'Velocette' whilst out on patrol.

Unfortunately Peter lost his wife 'Winnie' on the 20th November 2005, 2 days before their 61st anniversary. He was inspired to write these memoirs in the hope that he would be able to leave a brief history of part of his life and times served.

Peter is kindly donating the profits from any sales of his book to various charities including: Cancer Research, Royal British Legion, and the Metropolitan & City of London Police Orphans and Widows Fund.
